First Step receives $10,000 gift from Discuren Foundation

This gift will help support Kaleidoscope Play & Learn community play groups in Jefferson County that focus on child development and bonds between family and community.

Discuren’s generous gift to our Kaleidoscope Play & Learn Program will support weekly facilitated play groups for young children and their parents or caregivers in Jefferson County. Kaleidoscope provides not only group playtime, but also provides information, resources, support, and connections so that caregivers and parents have the tools they need to facilitate healthy development at home. The program is built on best practices in child development, early learning, parent education, “family, friend, and neighbor care”, community development, and cultural competence. Groups are also offered in Clallam County.

First Step Family Support Center receives a generous donation from Soroptomist of Sequim!

Thank you to Soroptimist International of Sequim, First Step Family Support Center was able to purchase $750.00 in books that support and empower women and girls to reach for the stars!

We look forward to providing these books to women and children in our community!

Thanks to a generous gift from Molina Healthcare, First Step was able to purchase $1000.00 in gift cards to help provide groceries for families in alignment with our Reach Out Project!

First Step Family Support Center receives generous donation from 1st Security Bank

1st Security Bank hosted a shred event in November and named First Step as the recipient of donations. The shred event provides a great service to our community and provides a generous gift to First Step. In being named the beneficiary of this event, First Step also received additional donations from the community such as diapers, socks, books, and cash donations.
